SparkleSkirts

Blogorama Bonanza Giveaway!

This week I have the pleasure to tell you about my new favorite running product—SparkleSkirts!  The entrepreneur and Sparkle Queen, Leah Powell, is someone I am lucky enough to call a friend.  SparkleSkirts are her passion.  This passion can be felt when you look at the running/walking skirts she makes, right here in the USA.
What do I love about my SparkleSkirt?  Everything!  First off, SparkleSkirts are made for all body types.  Leah makes her skirts from a size XS to 4X.  As a curvy girl, every other running skirt I have ever tried on has been to short on me.  This skirt length is perfect.  It covers all it needs to cover, but does not make me look Amish.  For all of us with a “mom pooch”, SparkleSkirt can help.  The skirt is constructed out of a stretchy, but firm fabric that holds it in.  The skirt has a wide band around the waist that is very slimming.  SparkleSkirts are reversible to ensure a great fit for everyone.  I choose to wear my SparkleSkirt with the zippered pouch in the back as I feel like the skirt fits me better that way.  Some choose to wear the zippered pouch in the front.  You can choose to wear yours the way it works best for you.
Another thing I really like about my SparkleSkirt is all the storage.  The waist band has a 12 inch zippered pocket to stash you stuff.  The legs also each have a built in pocket.  Leah is a big fan of GU gels, so she made the pockets of her skirts to fit a few gels in them.  Since I am an iPhone girl, I measure everything based on if my phone will fit.  I am happy to report that all three pockets of my SparkleSkirt easily fit my iPhone.  Since I like to care lots of essentials on my long runs, I have my SparkleSkirt loaded up.  I had my iPhone in my waist pack, a GU and my inhaler in one pocket and my Vera Bradley coin purse/ID holder in the other.  Since the skirt flares slightly, my pockets were camouflaged.  No one could tell that I had them loaded up.  All of the storage options made it so I did not need to strap on my SPIbelt.  The pockets everything I put in them in place and did not have any bounce.  I did not even know anything was in there.
In my opinion, the most genius aspect of the SparkleSkirt SparkleTech is the shorts.   The SparkleShirts SparkleTech has legs built in. Leah promises that the legs do no ride up—and she actually delivers on the promise.  I have tried so many skorts in my life, shorts with legs built it, and the legs have always ridden up on me.  This is not fun anytime, but it’s especially not fun during a run.  SparkleTech SparkleSkirts have a special designed leg that has an inner thigh band.  This band prevents the leg for budging while running.  It actually worked for me!  I do not wear shorts in general because they always ride up on me.  Leah offers SparkleBottoms too, shorts made just like the skirt legs.  I plan to try them soon.
To make sure I could give you the most thorough and honest review, I have worn my SparkleSkirt a lot this week.  This product is for sure my favorite that I have reviewed on my blog!  I wore it to a spin class, on a short treadmill run at the gym and on a long run outside.  I love it!  The legs did not budge once on me, not even when getting in or out of the car.  I love the fit and the length. It covers all the "junk in the trunk" perfectly. I really love how the skirt looks on me.  It would not fit me better if it was made specifically for me.  The skirt draped nicely when I was on the spin bike.  On the tread mill at the gym, I could see in the mirror how the skirt swayed as I ran—very cute.  I love the color SparkleSkirt Leah designed especially for the Disney Princess Half Marathon.  As you can see from the pictures, this shirt is the perfect princess pink!  Next, I am going to order a solid black SparkleTech SparkleSkirt for everyday use.
Leah and I are so proud of her great products and we know you will love them too. We want one of you to try a SparkleTech SparkleSkirt for FREE!  That’s right—it’s giveaway time!!!  For this giveaway, I will be using a new application called Rafflecopter for you all to enter the giveaway.  This giveaway is part of Blogorama 2011.  If you look right under this post, you will see a list of over 100 blogs, all hosting giveaways this week with a value of over $75!  !  To enter the giveaway, you must be a follower of this blog. 2. it's so awesome that you are having this as your give away. When I was reading your blog the other day, I noticed the logo/ad on the side bar and decided to check it out. She has some AMAZING stuff! I have been looking for somewhere to help me get the skirt/shorts I want for the Disney Princess Half... her site is perfect!

  3. I love, love, love the SparkleTech skirts. I picked one up at the Peachtree Road Race expo and love it. I had been bervous thinking they wouldn't be big enough but they fit great. I love that it has a nice large pocket in the waist for my phone so I don't have to wear my running belt with it. I hated every other running skirt I tried because they were made too tight and showed off what I really wanted to hide or the shorts underneath never stayed in place. I have neither problem with this skirt.

My only complaint is the elastic in the waist was made smaller than the waist of the skirt so it has popped some and is not shaped right anymore. The skirt and band itself fit wonderfully but the elastic band on the inside isn't in the greatest shape now. Oh well, not a big enough deal for me to stop wearing it.

    I love Sparkle Skirts!

  7. I really like the SparkleLight – Princess Pink. I am putting together an outfit for the Disney 1/2 marathon. I think this would go great with it.

I really like running skirts. The only problem I have with them is that they tend to ride up in the back. I am a pretty thin girl but I do have some junk in my trunk. So skirts and shorts tend to be shorter in the back on me. I have had trouble finding running skirts with a long enough inseam that they don't ride up in the back and show everyone by business.

  8. I like the SparkleTech - either solid black or picasso pink! This would be PERFECT for the Princess Half! :) Can't wait!

  9. I like the sparkly aqua colour as it matches Cinderella which I think will be my inspiration for my running outfit for the Princess Half!

I love that there are shorts and pockets included.

I wish there were more colours of the tech shorts!!

  10. I like the SparkleLight skirts so I can wear it over my favorite pair of running capris. I LOVE how there are built in pockets for my stuff so I wouldn't have to wear a belt. I like all the colors. I'm running the Tinkerbell Half marathon and hope she adds some more colors that match Tink and the rest of her fairy friends.

  18. Ooooh I am running the Princess half, and the Aqua Diamond tech skirt would make me Ariel! Green would be more Ariel-y but at least blue is ocean-y. The only hesitation I have is that they don't hold up to standard machine washing. I'd love the sparkle skirt but at these prices I want to get tons of use out of it, and I don't think I'll hand wash. But I neeeeed one for race day!

  19. I have never heard of these until today. I think I have found a new fave! I love the Little Mouse but Satin Black is more me. :)

  20. I like the aqua diamond sparkletech skirt. I've never tried one, but do have a running skirt and the pants underneath ride up all the time. It's so uncomfortable, so I'd love to try one of these!

  21. I love them all!! I just wish the SparkleTech came in yellow (for Belle!) or the SparkleLight came with a white waistband :)

  22. I'm just starting out in my running journey and am loving it so far. I love the idea of the Sparkle Tech. Having all those pockets plus a cute little skirt to be more modest sounds fantastic! I especially like the Peacock pattern!

  23. I like everything about it! Specially the wide band.
I just started to run and my goals are just like yours :)
The princess is going to be my first half! I'm so excited!
I would love to have a Sparkle skirt cause I'm going to use the suggestions I saw on the SparkleSkirt website to make my outfit as one of the princess :) All of it specially cause I wanna match my little girl that will be at the finish line waiting with Daddy dressed in her princess costume. She ADORES princesses :D

  28. Picasso Pink would be my favorite, and I love that they are anti ride up and prevent chafing.

  29. Grey peacock skirt is my fave as far as patterns go. I like that these are made in the USA. I like that they are available for full figured women. My daughter has set a goal to lose weight before her wedding next July. Maybe this skirt would be a good incentive if I got one in a small size. (oh, that's conniving. I would bot do that)
I can't see much that I do not like about this skirt. The price is a bit steep for my budget.

  30. I would LOVE this in PINK! It looks adorable and really comfortable... I like the fact that I can wear this (with my... {ahem}... BABY WEIGHT!) :(

  32. I like the SparkleLight - Fairy Blue :) I have never seen anything like this, but I could sure use something to wear at the gym that doesn't ride up! I always have to wear long shirts to cover it, so it looks like I'm not wearing bottoms at all and I don't like it.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I like the SparkleLight - Perfect Purple it's one of my favorite colors.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love sparkleskirts! I run regularly in my pink Sparklight. I am buying a black one soon!

  35. I just got my solid black sparkle tech skirt in the mail this past week can't wait to wear it next weekend at a breast cancer walk! I love that they make real womens sizes.

  36. I like the SparkleLight in princess pink!!! So much so I bought a black one too :) I'd love to get the camo one day, or the Star Platinum!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I love sparkleskirts! Leah is the best! She has made some custom skirts for me and they are wonderful! I really like the peacock grey. I have nothing negative to say, I love everything about the skirts. I will not run in anything else again!

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love my sparkle skirt but the one I have doesn't actually sparkle it is the camo. It is fun and comfortable to wear. I am anxiously waiting for the email with the Tinker Bell Skirt. I think I will buy one for my daughter, nieces and sister for a Christmas present to wear at the race in January. I sure hope Leah will let me buy 5.

  42. I really like the SparkleTech skirts in solid. I would wear mine for walking.
The best feature is that they don't ride up. I only have one pair of running shorts and I thought they would be perfect, but I spend so much time tugging at them. It is so frustrating.
the only thing I don't like is the price, because it would really hard for me to afford this. :)

  43. I like the non-sparkly ones. I'd love to rock a sparkly skirt, but I feel self-conscious enough in a bright green tech shirt! Maybe someday--they're pricey! The storage looks awesome.

  45. I haven't tried SparkleSkirts yet, but I've heard great things about them. I like the color of the Picasso Pink, but I'm not a fan of sequens/sparkles on my clothes. The size and amount of pockets sounds great!

  47. I like the Sparkle Light Countess Blue! I love the fact that they are roomy and don't bunch up. I also like that they have pockets, since I, too have to carry and inhaler and id. There isn't anything that I don't like about them!

I love the Sparkle Tech Skirt - but I love all the SparkleSkirts!!! I especially love the pink and purple ones... I love how you can get the skirt with the shorts under it or without! The one thing I would like different is if the zipper pocket in the front was water proof... so I could put my phone in it and not worry about sweating all over it! Other then that I LOVE SPARKLESKIRTS!!!

  52. So many choices, so little time! Working on my costume designs for my upcoming three halves in WDW. I would have ordered the red sparkle skirt for the wine and dine, but it only comes special order and it won't arrive in time :(

  53. I like the color peacock pattern. I've had problems with my skorts riding up, so that is my fav feature. I can't tell how the pockets are underneath, but I'm always leary about pockets with no closures.
